Goblet of Fire, Chapter 36

We’re rapidly approaching the end of book four, and today it’s with a chapter that I just find so distressing. Cornelius Fudge here is so blatantly acting against the best wishes of the wizarding world, for no reason than his own political benefit; after all, what’s to be lost from a little caution if there’s even a possibility that Voldemort has returned? And the fact that Rowling intentionally based him on real-life characters and situations is all the more depressing. Just think how different the wizarding world could have been with strong leadership; I wonder how different our world could be as well?
