Deathly Hallows, Chapter Seven

Whew. Well, now that Christmas (and all its attendant craziness) is over, I think it’s high time for another new chapter posting, don’t you?

This chapter is a style that’s typical at the start of Rowling’s books (and particularly of scenes at the Burrow), in that it spends a fair amount of time setting up future plot events, but not much actually *happens*. After all, of the nineteen drawings I have saved on my computer from this chapter, sixteen are simply of Harry and Ginny kissing. ;) But what I love about chapters like this is that these are the times we get to see Harry being Harry, just living his life and being part of the wizarding world that is so much fun for us readers to learn about. Without the action and drama, the books would be pretty boring – but these so-called “boring” chapters are a big part of what makes the series special, too.
