Deathly Hallows, Chapter Eight

I loved chapters like this one, where Rowling shows us an event that most of us have experienced as a Muggle many times (a wedding) and puts magical twists on familiar customs to make it a wizarding event instead. She’s so brilliant at intermingling magical touches with familiar – the champagne glasses float around of their own accord, a pool of molten gold flows outward to form a dance floor – and at the end, there are still a couple of guys in the corner, drunk and singing off-key. Hilarious.

I also want to stop and welcome three new artists (two of whom actually came with the last chapter but who I forgot to acknowledge): welcome aboard, Behindtheveil, Catching-Smoke, and now Sarapsys!
