Deathly Hallows, Chapter Twenty-Two

Harry Potter has been wrong an awful lot over the years, and most especially when he’s absolutely convinced he’s right. Snape was not, in fact, after the Philosopher’s Stone; Sirius wasn’t in the Department of Mysteries after all; turns out Dumbledore isn’t infallible. But in his sixth year, Rowling threw us for a loop – for while Harry was completely convinced all year that Draco Malfoy was a Death Eater (and his best friends wouldn’t listen to him), he turned out to be right. Oh, and he was right about Snape, too – he was the one who killed Dumbledore!

All of which puts us readers in an interesting predicament when we read about the Deathly Hallows. Harry’s certainly obsessed; could he possibly be right again? Ron and Hermione don’t seem to think so, but then, they aren’t aware of the title of the book they’re all starring in. Regardless, it’s a fun game to watch play out, and I’ll always remember second-guessing myself over and over as the books continued on….
